Frequently Asked Questions
Here are the Top 10 most common questions clients ask about their boudoir session…
How long do boudoir sessions usually last?
The length of a session can depend on several factors, like the number of outfits or how long hair and makeup take. An average session with 3 outfits, hair & makeup will usually take 2-3 hours.
Where will my session take place?
That’s up to you! We can shoot at your home, a hotel, or outdoors. This will be decided and arranged before your session.
Can I bring a friend to my shoot?
Sure! Sometimes a friend is just what you need to calm your nerves. I DO ask that your friend not interfere with the shoot and I only allow 1 friend in the room with you. Also, it is a requirement of mine that boyfriends/husbands/spouses NOT be in the room while we are shooting. This policy is to ensure that you are not distracted, embarrassed, or nervous. It will be better if they wait to see the final images anyway!
Do you provide lingerie? What should I bring to my shoot?
At this time, I do not provide wardrobe for these sessions. We can discuss what outfits and accessories will look best, prior to your shoot. I can also recommend a few online stores with great selections (there’s more than just Victoria’s Secret, you know)
Can I bring music to my shoot?
Absolutely! I bring a Bluetooth speaker to each session so you can get lost in the music while we shoot.
I have no clue how to pose! Will you tell me what to do?
Of course! Most people have little or no posing experience. I will direct your poses and select only those that are most flattering.
How much “skin” do I have to show?
That is entirely up to you and your comfort level. I will never ask you to push the limits of your comfort (that’s creepy) and unless you say otherwise, everything will be agreed upon before you take anything off.
If I’m comfortable, how…risqué…can my session be?
While I am comfortable shooting tasteful nudity, for the consistency of my style and brand, I will not shoot anything that could be interpreted as erotic or pornographic. Nothing against it if that’s what you’re looking for! I’m just not the right photographer for you.
Will my photos be photoshopped?
Yes. Your photos will be retouched by me and only me. Everything from acne, stretch marks, and cellulite…to loose strings, background clutter, and makeup! My goal isn’t to change the way you look, but to enhance the beauty that is there and remove anything that distracts from your photos.
Are you going to post my pictures online?
ONLY with your consent! I would love to share a few images from your session to inspire other women to book their own boudoir experience but I take privacy very serious, especially with the sensitive nature of these sessions. From start to finish, your images will remain password protected and will only be shared with your permission.
